Plant Powers:

Calendula (Pot Marigold), has anti bacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties. A marigold salve has been traditionally used for burns, bruises and rashes. It’s gentle enough for a baby’s skin. Indeed you may find calendula as an ingredient in many baby lotions or nappy rash creams. 

Chamomile: This divine blue essential oil and the flowers is calming and suitable for sensitive skin types. Again healing and soothing being the primary functions as it speeds the healing of cuts, scrapes, blisters and some skin irritations. Chamomile contains many compounds, one of these, the lovely blue chamazulene, is noted for promoting tissue regeneration. Chamomile is also used for digestive disorders in infants.

Kokum Butter: Rich antioxidant and antibacterial properties, is also very emollient without clogging the pores. In the Ancient Indian Ayurvedic practices Kokum butter is used for ailments of ear infections, inflammatory conditions, sores and even dermatitis. It’s also rich in Vitamin E which makes Kokum butter nourishing and moisturising for the skin.

Cocoa Butter: (raw, unrefined) Highly emollient, cocoa butter moisturises and helps heal skin, especially dry or sensitive skin. Some say it soothes rashes, burns and sores. But it definitely smells great!
